I purchased this deck used on ebay mainly for the looks, rather than the specs. I received a well taken care of and little used example of the deck, cleaned it meticulously - as it probably was never cleaned before - and tried it.

Tape handling is very good and so is the sound - more or less. I would not say it's on par with TOTL decks like an aiwa XK-009 Excelia, my main deck, but still is very good unit.

Coming back to looks, it's one of those - rare - decks that sport a drawer loading transport for the cassette. Which means it' more or less looks like a CD player and you can't see the cassette played.

The price to pay for that is that you don't have access to cleaning the heads and pinch rollers. There are cleaning cassettes that can perform decently in cleaning but nothing like using a cotton swab with alcohol. In order to perform a thorough cleaning, the top cover needs to be removed to gain access to the transport. But then, access is much better than a typical front loading cassette deck. Not a deck to stack under other equipment.
