The Luxman Lv-105 is whats known as black plastic crap. Harsh, bright sound and hasnt got much in the way of clean power. Stay away from these Luxmans that were made after the original company was sold.

I have mostly nothing but good to say about this amp, love the warm sound quality. The power is very good for an amp that is rated at 70wpc per full service manual I found on the internet. Stereo review and high fidelity clams 80wpc with max dynamic output of 190-200wpc at 4 ohms. Like most of the products of this time, I think the plastic controls and faceplate parts are a bit of a bummer, but getting past that all is good.

I came across this unit quite by accident. I own a pair of Klipsch Cornwalls and wanted a pair of Heresy's to compliment them in my family room. I found a pair of Heresy's on Craigslist. The seller mentioned that he wanted to sell his Luxman LV-105 and T-102 tuner. I replied that I might be interested in that I knew my 30 year old Yamaha CR-840 needed work. I quickly got on the internet and researched Luxman. I soon realized that Luxman was the Japanese equivalent to McIntosh. I also learned that the LV-105's specs were 80 watts p/channel with a THD of 0.008. I e-mailed the seller back that I was also interested in purchasing the Luxmans.
I could not believe the difference in sound between the Yamaha and Luxman. They made the Cornwall's sing. I was so impressed I added a Luxman DC-113 seven changer CD to my system.

I did not stop there. I found a distressed pair of Klipschorns in need of refurbishment. I cannot believe the sound through the K-Horns that the Luxman produces. It's the finest amp I have ever owned.
