Stereo Cassette Deck MARANTZ Model 5020 Stereo Cassette Deck. With manual, schematic diagram, wood case and box. Switchable voltage 120/220V AC This unit was purchased new. It is totally functional to the best of my knowledge and looks great. I would rate it a 9 plus in appearance. This 5020 has never been serviced, in fact, it has never had the wooden case removed. All knobs lights etc. in place. I had this matched with a Marantz 4270. It was been used very little in the past 17 years. Also included is a couple of packages of head cleaning sticks and a 120/220V plug adaptor, both came with the unit, and registration card. Unit will be shipped with original packing and box. Some of the 5020's were only 120V or 220V this is a dual voltage unit. Additional information and photos upon request. Would appreciate only serious inquiries. Stereo 2 + Quadradial 4 Receiver, manual, box This unit was purchased new. It is totally functional to the best of my knowledge and looks great. I would rate it a 9 plus in appearance. There is one bulb that is not lighting over the FM tuning indicator. The 4270 has never been serviced, in fact, it has never had the wooden case removed. Dials, knobs, etc., all in place. When I was into stereo I matched this unit to a pair of Bose 901 speakers. If you looking; you know a fine piece of stereo equipment and the specs can be obtained on this site. Receiver For your consideration . . A rare and vintage Marantz Model 2600 Receiver, rated at 300 watts RMS per side into 8 ohms. Purchased in 1981 from a dealer and friend of mine, it has been in my possession since that time. I employed it sparingly through 1984 when I married, however since that time, this 2600 has had less than 50 hours placed on it. Sad but true, as I had to give up one love for another. It has, by the way, lived in a smoke-free environment. It was recently serviced by a local Audiophile Dealer in Raleigh, NC, where it was cleaned, checked out and had a new bulb kit installed as one was burned out. This box, never abused, pushed a pair of JBL 150As and/or a double pair of Maggie MG-IIs. It never clipped, unlike my Ampzilla by Great American Sound, which at 230 RMS aside, would give out of gas after long stents at high volume levels when pushing the Planars. This old girl is actually a relatively young 27 year old due beauty due to the very limited use it has seen. It should enjoy a very long life time. The unit weighs in at about 65 lbs. I will split the exact shipping costs with buyer. Insurance is additional and a must requirement for the purchaser. The purchase cost with state sales tax was $1650 in 1981 had about the same buying power as $4000 in 2007. Annual inflation over this period was about 3.35%. Bottom line: She is a relatively sound bargain, as I have seen some of them sold on Ebay for $4500 or more. If you have questions, I'll gladly respond to your questions and I can send pictures upon request. |

WTB: Side panels for PM-94 MARANTZ PM-94 Wood / Wood finish Side Panels Needed I have a PM-94 which has very sadly lost both its side panels :( I think these were available in Black, Rosewood, or Oak finishes. As well as the wood panels themselves, there are a few extra bits, such as the 'escutcheons'. These are the metal blocks on the front corners of the panels and are likely to have associated fixing parts. I believe there should also be 2 long plates included, that to go under the full length of each panel to support and secure the wood panels ridgidly, to the base of the main chasis. It's difficult without knowing 100% how the original was put together and how the sides were fixed, without ever having seen a complete PM-94 before ! - I can only speculate based on hole positions. Not too bothered about them been 'pristine' - so long as they are in reasonably good condition... |

Integrated Amplifier Ultra-rare 1300 DC integrated amplifier. This integrated amplifier is a combination of the 3650 preamp and the 300DC power amp in one comprehensive unit. This amp runs cool, power amp section sounds absolutely perfect. The preamp needs a cleaning, it's a little cranky and you have to do some button-wiggling sometimes to make one feature or the other work properly. This unit has the extremely rare wood case; there is some scratching on the case, but nothing that anyone half-decent with woodworking couldn't make look brand new - these aren't gouges. Buyer pays shipping, and expect a serious shipping bill - this thing is heavy!!! I'll pack it very well. It is also 300 honest watts RMS - this will blow you right out of your home. :-) |

This unit is in near perfect condition and includes the original feet and a mint condition Handbook Of Instructions. There is a tiny 1/64th to 1/32nd inch nick on the top edge of the front panel, near the right corner and a 1/8th inch diagonal scratch above the "T" in Tuner on the front panel. The cover is black and there are no scratches or blemishes of any kind on it. All of the meter and function indicator lights work but it needs a bulb on the left end of the tuning scale. Pair One pair of Marantz HD-880 speakers in very good condition. EXCEPT the woofers have FOAM ROT. I repeat THE WOOFERS have FOAM ROT. Other than that, all drivers look perfect and work perfectly. The woofers are fine and play except for the foam. No problem with the coils or cones. The walnut cabinets are in suprisingly good condition. NO scratches, dents, or water rings. there are some VERY minor surfaces mars that will buff out with little effort. Photos of all sides tops and backs will be sent to all who enquire. FS: SM1000 and SC9 I am selling a wonderful SM-1000 amplifier and and SC-9 pre-amplifier. Both are in great condition. I just had the SC-9 cleaned and some capacitors were changed by Circle Stereo in Texas. Both units look and sound excellent. If you are serious about this pair I recommend that you buy next to the best or the best interconects. I recommend that you buy audio quest Emeralds or Diamonds or any other top quality interconnects. The SM-1000's potential is not unleashed if you don't put top notch interconects. You can have a great system but if you put cheap interconnects you are wasting your money. When the SM-1000 is played with the right interconnects it will surprise you and show you what music is. Also it is imperative that you have a great pair of speakers. I recommend JBL. Again having professional monster cable speaker cable of top quality will top the whole stereophonic image, sound, presence and experience. This classic duo will more than surpass your expectations and may I say if you put the best interconects and speaker wire. I personally have experienced the diference. Also when you set up the speaker wires, make sure both have the same length. I bought these units from an old Marantz dealer in California. These units, according to the the dealer, were the floor units that Marantz had in the Chatsworth, CA building before they closed and sold to Phillips of the Netherlands. I will only sell these units in the United States and the buyer is responsible for shipping and insurance. I will only take paypal or wire transfer. If you are serious about these pair contact me. FS: Marantz Esotec SM-11 and Marantz SC-11 I am selling a marantz SM-11 power amplifier and a marantz SC-11 pre-amplifier. These are the last Esotec series under the ownership of Phillips. These replaced the SM-1000 and the SC-1000. Their sound is awesome. You can read about it in Vintageknob Esotec section. The only reason i am parting with these is because I found a great SM-1000 and an SC-9. If these units don't sell I don't mind keeping them as they are collectors items. I don't think very many of these pieces made it to the United States. The sound stage of this pair (200 watts per channel) is euphoric and at high volume is feels as if you are in a concert hall. The speakers that i used were the famous Bozak Symphonies. What a great combination! In this amplifier you can only play one pair of speakers. I assure you won't be dissapointed with this pair. They are covered with a beautiful wood frame. This is truly a piece of history that ends with this pair. The buyer is responsible for shipping charges. Like everything else Marantz built in their " golden years", they are first class all the way. They have always been a joy to listen to, whatever the type of music or the listening level. The cabinets are ¾" particleboard with a genuine walnut veneer finish and dark brown polyester grille cloth. They still look new. Power handling capacity is 100 watts; frequency range is 35 to 20k Hz, +/- 3dB. If your pleasure is listening to music, you won’t need a subwoofer. Crossover points are 750 Hz and 2.5k Hz. The tweeter and midrange have individual level controls. Nominal impedance is 8 ohms. Overall dimensions are 14-5/8" wide, 24-1/4" high, and 11-1/2" deep. Weight per system is 38 pounds. The drivers are as follows: Midrange and woofer cones are constructed of ten different fibrous materials, combined with special dyes molded under heat and pressure to specified weight and shape, and then impregnated with an extremely hard finish. The woofer cone can withstand 100 Gs of pressure without breaking up. In January 2000 I had the woofer foam surrounds replaced by Speakers, Etc. In July 2001 one of the tweeters started sounding “scratchy” so I replaced both of the tweeters with Vifa Model D26TG-05-06's from Simply Speakers. (Marantz no longer stocked replacement parts.) FOUR Marantz Imperial 7 Speakers I purchased these speakers new in the mid 70s. They were hooked to a Marantz 4400 and thanks to an over zealous roomie back then who insisted on throwing into 2 X 125 and cranking it got blown a couple of times. They were repaired under warranty (good dealer) both times and I believe were repaired with genuine Marantz parts. On the second repair the dealer added some kind of cross over or something (needless to say, I'm not an Audiophile) into the back panel of the enclosures. I also had an ex wife who insisted on over watering the plants she had sitting on 2 of them so the finish is about shot on 2 of them and the finish on the other 2 is so-so. Structurally all 4 enclosures are fine. As far as the speakers themselves go, there is 1 mid-range that looks like it has a radial crack and on the same speaker the tweeter center dome is 1/2 collapsed. Visually at least the woofers and all the rest of the speakers look good to me (remember, I really don't know what I'm looking at). These things are 26 to 28 years old so the foam grills have deteriorated and pieces of foam fall off every time you touch them. They have been stored in the original packing and boxes (boxes are in okay shape) since February, 1994. If you have interest in these, as parts or to refurbish, please e-mail me. Remember these things weigh about 50 lbs each in their boxes. I live in Edmonton Canada so shipping them anywhere will be expensive. To be fair I will see what offers I get and make a decision on what to do with these about the end of January. |

Receiver Original owner must part with beloved first high end audio product I owned. Marantz borrowed it for a CES exhibit. Cosmetically there is no visual wear. It works perfectly; amplifier is clean, tuner is sensitive and rock solid, switches are quiet. It has gotten all of the factory modifications that were available. The power transformer was replaced by a hand wound transformer, by Marantz, at considerable expense. The original power transformer was a weak link in the 18. The oscilloscope was replaced a few years ago, and is completely functional as is the entire receiver. Tuner dial is perfect as is the famously smooth gyro tuning mechanism. I have the original owner's manual and the service manual. Do not have the original box. Walnut enclosure is excellent cosmetically. Reason for selling: Just need space. Buyer pays shipping. Speakers These speakers are high-end 1978 productions which were in rare, well-kept condition even prior to having the components tested & new surrounds added (10" woofers), with unusual inverted center. for balanced dispersion. Also: 4" mid, a full 2" dome "bubble" tweeter, which is encased in a large, 4.75" diam. magnet w/ satin-metal surround... and is the "CROWN of their exceptional CLARITY" + face-mounted satin L-pads; [Hi/Mid adj.] Posted Specs: 35Hz - 20kHz w/ crossover freq. 750 - 2.5kHz, 8 ohms. Cab. measures 28 1/4 H.~ 15 W. ~ 12 D (13 1/2" w/ grill). Walnut w/ rounded cab. edges. Slight cosmetic depression to top edge of one ('tho they were made w/ hi-Q, ultra dense particulate to about the consistency of Concrete !) As Pro End Marantz, were uniquely marketed to perform as either acoustic suspension or ported. Called "Vari-Q." Where I used surgical foam inserts to facilitate the original "dampeners", (placed in long ports,) to use as "air susp." spkrs. Again, the tweeters are the diamonds for true sound reproduction... as opposed to sounding like "music from a Box". CURIOUS??? O.K.- I've owned them since 1983 and I'm only selling because I have a 2nd pair of same. As well as several other vintages that make up a rather hefty collection! ("Can't play 'em all at ONCE) PS: I cannot list all "crossover values" that make them sound as good as they do, but the crossovers themselves look like "miniature models of New York City." (in an orig. sale ad, circa. 78, sold for 319.00 each.) |

Integrated Amplifier This 1090 is in very good shape, except like many of these units, there are no feet. People tend to take them off so they can mount them in a wall or cabinet, and over the years they lose the feet. That's how I got this one, sans feet. It works very well, sounds absolutely choice.
