Sansui 7070

by Marcus Beardog Date Added: Friday 26 April, 2013
This is indeed a very special Receiver! Worthy of a capital "R". I had a friend gift one to me and I never thought I would be this indebted, the dual phono hookups are sublime in accurate sound reproduction and are amazingly adept at taking pops and ticks out of old records. I have mine hooked up to a set of Realistic Optimus 5b's and despite the fact I have a main system running a Sansui B2102 power amp and matching preamp (no slouch either) I just keep coming back to this beauty.

The tuner section is stellar and this amp has a TONNE of power to spare, if you have the opportunity to pick one up, don't hesitate. I also run stereo jacks for playing digital music off my tablet and phone, the sound quality is as good as the digital copies will allow, my point being that one could easily go out and spend 150 to 300 on some modern AV amp and they would still be NOWHERE near the build and sound quality of this vintage monster.

The new gear will be dead in 3-5 years but this beauty will carry on.

Cheers
