I have one, and there’s no way it weighs 9 LBs. More like 50

Well...A bit of a story behind My au 11000. I acquired it back in late 80's from an Old Friend of mine. He told Me then to Never get rid of it. Well...times were, well to make a long story shorter, I ended up selling it to another Good Friend of Mine in late 90's. I have acquired about as to whether or not He still had it. Turns out it sat in the Closet in a box for over 10 Years. Long story even shorter, I have My Baby back Home where it belongs. Soon will be looking to have it Professionally looked after due to the time resting in a Closet. Happiness is...

Johnny Rotten:
Given that the AU11000 weighs 19 Kg (42 lb), I would say you about right, except that it did weigh five times more.
Apart from that, I have one and it is every bit as good as a top of the line Japanese amplifier of the 1970s should be. Add to that the outstanding quality of the engraved fascia, the superb feel of the switches and the gorgeous knobs, I think it is a classic.

Oh, and it sounds great too.

This was a powerhouse back in the day. I sure as hell wanted one, but no way I could have afforded it as a teenager cutting grass for income. I would have thought I\'d died and gone to heaven if one ever came into my possession, but here is what strikes me about it, it weighs in at less than 9 pounds! A similar amp today would weigh at least FIVE TIMES that due to the much beefier transformers and caps used to achieve the specs of modern amp.

Wow! Am I the first person to write a review of this product online? Where do I start? After the bitter loss of my beloved Sansui G-7700 due to lack of AC voltage in my old rented house, I was looking for another vintage Sansui with similar power and performance (rarity notwithstanding), and not so vulnerable to incineration. From what I gather online, these units are exceptionally rare. The massive internal heat sinks suggest that this one was built to perform all day long without breaking a sweat. The precision calibrated solid machined aluminum master volume control knob ensures that it will never be too loud for it's own good. The solid machined aluminum control knobs set against the black face really make this one stand out cosmetically. Gorgeous! This one retains it's professional crystal clear studio quality sound even when cranked! This is not your average vintage receiver, folks. While it's definitely true that you could get more bang for your buck, this baby packs the punch, the professional sound quality, the extreme efficiency (240 watt power consumption) and special cosmetic touches to make it one of the most desirable collector's items currently on the market. I won't say here what I paid for mine and to have it professionally repaired, but the ones I've seen for sale on Ebay the prices are well, jaw-dropping. All I can say is that if you want one of these things in good condition, be prepared to dig a little deeper in your pockets than you expected to for a vintage receiver of this caliber.
