The AU117 II was a good solid performer but suffered from fierce competition from the lower priced better sounding Nad 3020 which swept all before it. Combined with the threat from Nad was the fact that for a little more mone it was possible to purchase the better performing AU217 from the same company. In conclusion it can be said that the AU117 II was a good amp badly positioned in the market place.
