The BA-3000 is truly a Monster Amplifier. It has all of the power anyone could possibly need. When I purchased mine it had been in storage for many years and needed some attention. It kept destroying the original style Power Transistors (2SD424 and 2SB554) so I upgraded them to the MJ21193G and the MJ21194G. Since upgrading them to these more modern Power Trasistors and taking the necessary time to adjust the bias and balancing the speaker outputs I have had absolutely no more problems with this amplifier blowing the Power Transistors. I decided to totally rebuild it so I spent over a year rounding up all the transistors, resistors, capacitors, etc to replace all of the old parts. I also upgraded most of the parts on the driver boards. Really I found that the most important thing to do to keep from blowing the Power Transistors is to set the Bias and balance the speakers. The sound of the BA-3000 Amplifier when connected to its matching CA-3000 Preamplifier is simply amazing. After getting this amplifier rebuilt and getting the problem with the Power Transistors fixed I sold my very expensive McIntosh amplifier and preamlifier because I felt the Sansui was at least a better sounding amplifier if not a better sounding amplifier.
