Sansui G-5000

by Randy Hepker Date Added: Friday 14 December, 2012
Here's a review of the G5500 model Sansui receiver which replaced the G5000. The G5500 receiver was rated 60W per channel and .025% THD. The G5500 was manufactured between 1980 and 1982. Its appearance didn't change from the G5000. The G5500 is powerful and clean in sound. To me the sound isn't sterile like the Pioneer SX3700 which sold in the same time period. I have owned my DCM CX27 speakers since 1993 and no other receiver has brought them to life like the G5500 has. This is my new favorite. Also own a Sansui G3500. Great piece and audiophile value!
