Technics SU-V8

by Marc Mielhausen Date Added: Friday 09 December, 2011
This monster is a dual monoblock design (two transformers and discrete output sections) that was quite unexpected when I first bought this amplifier. I use it to run some vintage Audiosphere Research Monitor 18L speakers. They work excellent together. This amplifier is much sought after because of it\'s exceptionally clean and punchy output. This amplifier was made when Technics actually made decent gear. If you ever have the opportunity to buy one for a reasonable price (they go fast and expensive whenever listed on Ebay), snap it up...you definitely will not be disappointed and it has a massive amount of power that is easily tailored thanks to variable loudness (super bass) and Class A setting.
