Yamaha B-2X

by jim king Date Added: Monday 29 August, 2011
I have owned the YAMAHA B2-X for over twenty years. I have been very happy to have it as my main amp running MAGNEPAN TYMPANI 4 AND MG3.3 speakers. These speakers are very hard to drive. i have owned the YAMAHA b-2, M-2,M80,M85 amps. None of these hold a candle to the B2X. A true dual mono amp with amazing detail. I consider it very close to the YAMAHA B-1 in sound. i should know as i owned one of these for fifteen years! Ionly sold the B-1 BECAUSE IT CANNOT BE FIXED.the b2x can. For a 1985 amp to retail for 1500, it was a great deal then and a better deal now. IT WAS THE ONLY AMP TO BRING OUT THE TIGHT BASS IN A MAGNEPAN I HAVE USED.I HAVE OWNED S.A.E,PHILIPS MADE BY MAC,BIG DENONS AND OTHERS. Forget the light shows and get this amp!
