Sansui 250

by Chris McColm Date Added: Sunday 22 August, 2010
This is a nice receiver that I have had for a long time..not working , glowing tube plates ,distorted sound . I finally got serious and restored it electrically . New caps , some resistors .. replaced one tube . The sound is liquid like . Silky smooth and clear . Not a lot of power here . Makes a good office unit . About 5/w per channel rms ..some say it has 8 per channel. Lots of tubes ,looks like a small city at night .... nice sound, tuner is very good . The magic eye is great ... no replacement though.... so when it goes out ,,, no show . There are not many around so if you get one ,,, hang on to it .There is not a lot of info on this unit either. Easy to listen to for hours on end . Small speakers work well with this unit like the Optimus proLX5 speaker ... Something similar like some old minimus 7s are good with this also ...giant speakers are out of the question . Total investment is about 130.00 not including my time working on this unit . This unit also has huge output transformers . Very nice piece for any music lovers collection .
