I got one at a yard sale. Wanted $20 for it, bought is for $10! There were problems with it such as strange "cracking" noise out of right phono and no sound at all out of left channel. Had it serviced here on Cape Cod by a a tech guru. All is perfect now..so far. My unit has handles making it even more heav!
Need owner's manual. Tired one source and it was a scam; tried to lock my computer. I ahve the service manuial however. |

I have owned lot of Sansui receivers and amplifiers and Au-317II is a keeper. It has clean punchy sound, great look. It will drive every speaker that you connect to it. Before that amplifier I bought brand new Onkyo TX8270 receiver. Used it on Wharfedale Diamond 11.2 speakers. Except of lot of connection types, this amplifier had no value in sound quality. When I sold this modern Onkyo and bought this vintage Sansui speakers started to sing, play, dance. Life came from it and the difference was amazing. Lot of bass, but not unpleasant. Lot of details, yet warm. Amazing amp. |

I still have the 317 that I bought in 1979, it is still a very impressive amp and still in use. If I could get a new one I would but it again. |

Offering more power and even better performance than the 217 this amp was well received by critics. the amp delivered a very good sonic performance being more than capable of delivering fine results when handling a wid variety of music. construction of these amps is to a very high standard and they look and feel very strongly constructed. In its's day a very popular amp and that popularity was well deserved! |

after using marantz, rotel and yamaha amps i came to use sansui au317ii amp . i bought this through ebay . very solid amp with heavy built quality. the outward look is tough and is the same inside a real beast. the amp is heavy and a feel of quality in every aspect.
the sound is far excellent than any amps i have used . some amps are good in bass, some bright. this amp has got a clean sound with a tight bass. the speakers used were a old vintage german speakers and the sound coming was amazing.
as a audio enthusiast i collect different amps and seen that sansui au317ii is really a performer with all features present in high end amps .
the only drawback was the speaker cable connector at back , holes are little small and difficult to connect heavy gauge speaker wires. |
