Technics SU-V9

by Domenic Melino Date Added: Wednesday 02 March, 2022
As the expression goes, "They don't make them as they used to,". I bought this beefy 120-watt integrated amp back in 1980 and am still enjoying it to this day 40+ years later. It's quite amazing to see how this old amp can still outperform many of today's newer amplifiers. The craftsmanship is second to none. the design is elegant and the sound it produces is effortlessly powerful and a pleasure to listen to over a wide range of speakers. The only thing I would have loved to see added to this amp is a remote control capability and VU meters, but now I'm really nitpicking. Other components have come and gone, but the Technics SU-V9 remains at the heart of my 2-channel listening set-up. I'd definitely buy it again if Technics still made one.
